A Beautiful Reminder

What is it that attracts us to flowers?

Is it the vibrant colors? The soft crown of petals? Or the sweet fragrance that lures us into its beauty?

Whatever it is, I fall victim to the beauty of every flower I pass.

I love to keep fresh cut flowers in my home. It opens up the room and provides a fresh fixture for every space. Preparing my own arrangements is how I practice of self-care. For a few minutes, I get to focus on one thing – the beauty of something God created

In the midst of my enjoyment, there’s a deeper bond between myself and the magnetism found in my love for flowers. They are gentle reminders of His ability to make things strong and beautiful. Reminding me of the beauty found in salvation.

A flower’s beauty is a by-product of what it takes for the plant to attract pollinators. Everything about it was created to attract thousands of species, including humans. It’s size, scent, vibrant colors and shapes, all created for the purpose of attraction.

The vulnerability of its beauty reminds us that the flower’s strength is found in its stem. While not as beautiful as its crown of petals, it’s the only way it can remain upright.

Its beauty could last a lifetime. However, once removed from its roots the strength of the stem can only last so long before it begins to wither away. But if it remains connected, it can provide a lifetime of beauty. Weathering storms and changing seasons, blossoming over and over again.

The beauty that attracts and the strength of its roots, remind me of the beauty of salvation. It is the strength found deep within me and the source of life that allows me to weather the storms and ever changing seasons of life.

What’s seen on the outside is a by-product of what God placed within me.

The beauty of salvation,

grace, mercy and favor.

The blessings that surround me.

The smile that holds a glimpse of hope.

My unique gifts that’s used for the Glory of His kingdom,

were all created to attract men and women to the source of my strength, Christ.

During my moments of self-care, as all my senses are filled with the fragrant beauty of his creation, each flower whispers an affirmation of his love

A flower’s petals can wither away but if it’s rooted and connected to its source of life, no matter the storm, it will always bloom again.
